Corporate Accounts Manager

        NATURE OF WORK:

The Corporate Accounts Manager is responsible for seeking and securing new partnerships with the industry, stewarding ongoing relationships to maintain and expand support, and maintaining clear and consistent communications with the corporate sector. This role focuses on aligning corporate partners’ philanthropic goals with the VFW Foundation’s mission, fostering meaningful relationships, and supporting programs and events through strategic corporate engagement. Reports to VFW Foundation Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations

        TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborate with the Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations to devise and implement corporate partnership strategies to achieve revenue goals. 
  • Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships to generate financial and in-kind support for VFW Foundation programs and initiatives. 
  • Research prospective corporate partners, conduct cultivation visits, and build relationships with key corporate contacts. 
  • Develop high-quality proposals, presentations, and reports in collaboration with relevant VFW departments. 
  • Oversee sponsorship activities for events, including the VFW National Convention, ensuring seamless implementation and delivery of sponsorship benefits. 
  • Manage cause-marketing campaigns and member affinity programs, such as the Burger King/VFW Unmet Needs fundraiser, including franchisee engagement, marketing materials creation, and donation collection. 
  • Track and analyze partnership outcomes, providing detailed reports and recommending improvements for growth. 
  • Leverage corporate relationships to provide value-added services that support VFW programs, such as increased media exposure or product donations. 
  • Ensure accurate records of corporate contacts and relationships, and maintain excellence in customer service for corporate sponsors. 
  • Develop budgets related to corporate support, including revenue and expense projections. 

        KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a business-related field such as marketing, communications, or a related field. In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 5 or more years military or civilian experience in a similar position will be considered.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in corporate relations, fundraising, or account management, with demonstrated success in generating revenue. 
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a strong ability to build and maintain relationships. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. 
  • Knowledge and experience in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Boomerang, Razor’s Edge) preferred. 
  • Ability to research and analyze corporations for potential collaboration opportunities. 
  • Self-motivated, with excellent time management and problem-solving abilities. 
  • VFW or VFW Auxiliary membership eligibility and VFW work experience preferred but not required. 

        SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Corporate Accounts Manager serves as a key driver in advancing the mission of the VFW Foundation by developing, nurturing, and growing corporate partnerships. This role requires a strategic, results-oriented individual capable of aligning corporate philanthropic goals with the organization’s objectives. The manager ensures the delivery of high-quality sponsorships, cause-marketing campaigns, and affinity programs while maintaining exemplary customer service for corporate partners. Success in this position directly supports the financial health and programmatic impact of the VFW Foundation. This position is FLSA exempt and reports to the Director, Corporate and Foundation Relations. 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Performance-based, team-oriented office environment.
  • Daily research, analysis, and communications via computer, internet, and telephone.
  • Limited out-of-office travel required to facilitate corporate visits, events, and presentations.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

        MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Identify and cultivate new corporate partnerships to secure financial and in-kind contributions.
  • Conduct research and analysis to target high-potential corporate prospects.
  • Develop tailored proposals and presentations to engage prospective partners effectively.
  • Steward existing corporate partnerships to ensure long-term collaboration and increased support.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for corporate contacts, providing consistent and effective communication.
  • Ensure the fulfillment of sponsorship benefits and other partnership obligations.
  • Oversee corporate sponsorship activities for key events, including the VFW National Convention.
  • Manage cause-marketing campaigns and affinity programs, ensuring optimal partner engagement and execution.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver value-added services through corporate partnerships.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on the outcomes of corporate partnerships.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to optimize future initiatives.
  • Develop and manage budgets related to corporate support, including revenue and expense forecasts.
  • Track financial outcomes of partnerships to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Represent the VFW Foundation at corporate events, meetings, and presentations.
  • Actively advocate for the VFW Foundation’s mission, fostering goodwill and alignment with corporate stakeholders.

The VFW Foundation offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Relocation allowance is not available.

Salary Range: $50,000 - 74,999
