Development and Marketing Senior Manager

Introduction:
HealthEd Connect is a nonprofit organization empowering women and children through evidence-based health, education and advocacy programs. We accomplish this mission by training and partnering with volunteer community health workers in Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, and Nepal. HealthEd Connect is celebrating it’s 15-year anniversary in 2024 and is recognized as a top-rated nonprofit by Charity Navigator, GreatNonprofits, and Candid (GuideStar).
 
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development and Marketing Sr. Manager will play a pivotal role in advancing the mission of HealthEd Connect into our next phase of growth and service. This position is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive strategies to enhance donor engagement, drive fundraising efforts, and elevate our marketing and communications initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of strategic thinking, creativity, and analytical skills to foster growth and sustainability.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Lead the creation and implementation of integrated donor development and marketing strategies that align with the organization’s goals and mission.
  • Donor Development: Cultivate and manage relationships with current and prospective donors, leveraging analytics to identify trends and opportunities for engagement and support.
  • Marketing and Communications: Design and execute marketing and social media campaigns across multiple channels, ensuring consistent messaging that resonates with target audiences and enhances HealthEd Connect’s brand.
  • Public Speaking and Representation: Serve as a spokesperson for the organization at events, meetings, and public engagements, effectively communicating our mission and impact.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Manage and utilize donor and marketing analytics to assess performance, inform strategies, and provide actionable insights to the executive leadership team, development committee, and board of directors.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Executive Director, board directors, and external partners to ensure cohesive messaging and efficient execution of initiatives.
  • Attention to Detail: Develop marketing materials, grant applications, and manage donor analytics, ensuring accuracy and high-quality standards.
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nonprofit Management, Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in marketing, social media campaigns, development or related field.
  • Experience and aptitude for strategy development and execution, with a focus on donor engagement and fundraising success.
  • Strong public speaking skills and experience representing an organization to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in donor analytics and marketing analytics, with the ability to interpret data and drive decision-making.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
  • Hybrid position with 2-3 days in the office each week (located in Independence, MO). Up to 20% travel for donor visits and speaking engagements with option to visit international program locations.
  • Starting Salary: $44,000 – 47,000     
  • Benefits: Healthcare Allowance, Paid Holidays (11), Paid Vacation (accumulate 3 weeks in first year), Sick/Personal Leave (accumulate 3 weeks/year), Retirement matching (up to 3% of salary)
