Development Associate
Position Title: Development Associate
Reports to: Director of Development
Salary Range: $50,000 - $55,000
Minimum Experience: 2-3 years
Job Summary:
The Development Associate supports the Development department in executing fundraising strategies and initiatives. This role manages annual giving campaigns, memberships, special fundraising projects, corporate and individual rental events, and sponsorships. The ideal candidate is expected to have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in development or a related field.
Responsibilities:
Annual Giving:
• Plan and execute annual giving campaigns across multiple channels, including direct mail, email, and digital platforms.
• Analyze donor data to identify trends, track progress, and uncover growth opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies to boost donor acquisition, retention, and engagement.
• Monitor campaign performance and adjust tactics for optimal results.
Memberships:
• Oversee membership programs, focusing on recruitment, retention, and member engagement.
• Implement growth strategies to expand the membership base and increase renewal rates.
• Coordinate member benefits, communications, and events to enhance member experience.
• Track membership metrics and identify opportunities to improve program effectiveness.
Corporate Sponsorships:
• Develop and manage a corporate sponsorship program, including creating attractive sponsorship packages.
• Identify, cultivate, and maintain relationships with potential and existing corporate sponsors and donors.
• Prepare compelling proposals and presentations to secure corporate sponsorships and large donations.
• Ensure proper recognition and acknowledgment of corporate sponsors and donors, maintaining ongoing relationships.
Rental Events and Special Events:
• Manage logistics for rental events, ensuring seamless execution and a high-quality client experience.
• Assist with planning and executing special fundraising events, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
• Collaborate with other departments to maximize event impact and engage the community for fundraising and awareness.
• Oversee budgets and timelines for special projects to ensure they are on track and within scope.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least two years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
• Demonstrated success in fundraising and development, including researching prospective sponsors, securing individual gifts, managing donor relations, and cultivating corporate sponsorships.
• Proven experience in managing all aspects of grants, including compliance, research, application preparation, coordination with internal departments, submission, monitoring progress, and reporting, with a particular focus on federal grants, ensuring efficient process management and up-to-date documentation throughout the grant lifecycle.
• Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Proficiency in donor management software.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.

Compensation and working conditions.
The salary is up to $55,000, commensurate with education, experience, and internal equity.
40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5 pm, with an occasional evening or weekend.
