Development Coordinator

DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR
CLASSIFICATION: Full-Time, Non-Exempt, Office-Based
LOCATION: Kansas City, Kansas
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Development

POSITION AND ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:
The Development Coordinator plays a vital role to the stakeholder experience of Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City through day-to-day support to the Development operations and general administrative support. As the welcoming face of the organization, this position will play an integral part of showcasing our dedication to providing KC kids with a choice-filled future. The Development Coordinator organizes, coordinates, and implements a variety of the organization’s development activities that will strengthen key donor interactions, event logistics, and other resource support to the Organization.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Manage the organization’s front desk providing exceptional customer experience by welcoming guests, answering phones, accepting deliveries, and other day-to-day administrative items.
  • Document key information in CRM donor database and other stakeholder management platforms (Constant Contact, Qgiv, etc.).
  • In coordination with the Stakeholder Experience Manager, assist with onsite event logistics such as room setup, guest arrivals, and other support as needed
  • Support the planning and logistics of Junior Achievement special events
  • Issue gift acknowledgment letter to donors
  • Support the Development team through generation of fundraising reports and invoices
  • Provide support to the Fundraising and Marketing Board of Director’s committee
  • Manage logistics and tracking for grants, proposals, and reports
  • Create and manage lists for mailed and digital communications  
  • Other duties as assigned.
PROFESSIONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing circumstances
  • Highly organized, and detail-oriented with strong project management skills; able to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly
  • Possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; some college or additional training preferred
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with a CRM system or relational database.
  • Prior nonprofit experience a plus

JAKC offers a competitive compensation package including health insurance, generous paid time-off, 401k, and other benefits. Compensation starts at $20/hour, with experience and other qualifications considered.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
The Development Coordinator role is expected to work 100% of the time in the facility, between the hours of 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. After 90 days of employment, limited remote work may be available. Limited hours outside of this schedule may be expected from time to time.
