Work Location: Remote – Must live in, or be willing to locate to, one of the following states: MO, KS, IN, NJ, VA, PA, TN, GA, MS, TX or FL.
Work Schedule: The typical work week is forty (40) hours. During periods of high activity (e.g., OBR deployments, events, campaign periods), this role may require evenings and weekend work. This position includes travel, estimated at ten to twenty percent (10-20%) of the time, and travel is an essential function of the role.
Compensation: $50,000 – $65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications. Comprehensive benefits package included.
About Operation BBQ Relief
Operation BBQ Relief (OBR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving communities impacted by natural disasters, civic service initiatives, and military support efforts. Through the support of generous donors, partners, and volunteers, OBR delivers comfort, hope, and relief when it’s needed most. The Growth & Development team plays a critical role in sustaining this work by building strong donor relationships, ensuring excellent stewardship, and supporting a growing fundraising program.
Position Summary: Operation BBQ Relief seeks a Development Coordinator to support the day-to-day operations of a growing fundraising program. This role is responsible for gift processing, donor acknowledgments, CRM data integrity, reporting support, calendar and project coordination, and administrative support across annual giving, corporate partnerships, grants, and events.
Essential Functions
Gift Administration & Donor Services
- Process charitable gifts, pledges, matching gifts, and other revenue accurately and on time.
- Generate and track donor acknowledgments, tax receipts, and stewardship communications.
- Maintain accurate coding for donor records, campaigns, appeals, and funds.
- Respond to routine donor inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Maintain donor data accuracy, including updates and duplicate management.
- Support CRM reporting, list generation, and user assistance.
- Produce routine and ad hoc fundraising reports.
- Help document procedures and data standards.
- Coordinate calendars and deadlines for campaigns, appeals, grants, and events.
- Support mailing lists and donor segmentation.
- Assist with dashboards and briefing materials.
- Partner with finance on reconciliation and accuracy.
- Provide administrative support for fundraising and donor events.
- Assist with registration and post-event follow-up.

- 2+ years of experience in fundraising operations or related roles
- Experience using a donor CRM
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly sit at a desk and work on a computer for prolonged periods. This is largely a sedentary role; however, frequent travel (10-20% of time) requires ability to drive, walk, carry materials, and stand for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds when representing OBR at events.
Work Environment
This position operates primarily in a remote home office setting with routine use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, video conferencing). The role also includes in-person meetings at community locations, donor offices, and OBR facilities. Travel may include exposure to varying weather conditions, temporary facilities, and high-stress environments during deployments. Noise level is usually moderate to low in-home office settings and varies at travel locations.
