Position: Development Manager

Business Background & Focus:
Pharmacy of Grace is a stand-alone charitable pharmacy focused on helping uninsured and underinsured individuals access the prescription medications they need. We believe medication access is about more than simply filling a prescription. Our team takes a high-touch approach to pharmacy care, providing personalized medication counseling and working directly with patients and providers to help ensure patients understand their medications and can take them safely and consistently.

We combine this personal approach with high-tech pharmacy systems and technology that help our team work efficiently, reduce the potential for human error, and allow our pharmacists and staff to spend more time focused on patients. From advanced pharmacy technology to private counseling spaces and language-access services, we use both technology and personal connection to make pharmacy care more accessible, efficient, and patient-centered.

Mission:
The Mission of Pharmacy of Grace is to improve access to prescription medication for uninsured and underinsured individuals and to increase the number of prescription medications available to vulnerable populations in Kansas.

Reports To: Senior Director of Development & Community Outreach

Position Type: Full-Time

Salary Range: $65,000 - $85,000

Position Summary:
The Development Manager is responsible for advancing Pharmacy of Grace's fundraising efforts through grant development, grant management, donor cultivation, and community engagement. This position manages the organization's grant portfolio by stewarding existing funder relationships, preparing competitive grant proposals and renewal requests, identifying new funding opportunities, and supporting fundraising initiatives that advance Pharmacy of Grace's mission. The ideal candidate is an organized, relationship-focused professional with exceptional writing skills who thrives on building partnerships, managing multiple priorities, and helping secure the resources needed to expand access to affordable medications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Pharmacy of Grace’s grant portfolio, including active grants, reporting requirements, renewals, compliance, and funding histories.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing foundation, corporate, healthcare, and community funders to support continued investment in Pharmacy of Grace’s mission.
  • Research, identify, and evaluate new funding opportunities aligned with organizational priorities and strategic goals.
  • Prepare and submit high-quality grant proposals, letters of inquiry, renewal requests, and supporting documentation.
  • Collaborate with program and administrative staff to gather data, budgets, patient stories, and outcome measures for grant proposals and reports.
  • Prepare timely interim and final grant reports that demonstrate impact, accountability, and alignment with funder priorities.
  • Maintain accurate grant, donor, and development records in Little Green Light (LGL), including proposals, deadlines, reports, and relationship tracking.
  • Represent Pharmacy of Grace professionally at community meetings, networking events, healthcare coalitions, outreach activities, and fundraising events by communicating the organization’s mission, programs, and impact.
  • Strengthen and expand relationships with community partners, businesses, healthcare organizations, and other stakeholders while identifying opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, referrals, volunteer engagement, and future funding.
  • Support fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation activities, community events, and other development initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, business, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in nonprofit development, grant writing, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in grant writing and grant management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience with donor management systems, grant databases, or CRM software preferred.
  • Ability to represent Pharmacy of Grace professionally in community and business settings.
