Donor Relations Administrative Assistant PT

Wayside Waifs is Kansas City's largest and most comprehensive no kill pet adoption campus. Since 1944, we have been working diligently to partner pets and community for life. Wayside Waifs strives to enrich the lives of abandoned, abused, and homeless animals until they find a new family home. We care for more than 6,500 animals every year. HOURLY RATE: $19.81, NON-EXEMPT PART-TIME 25 HOURS PER WEEK
POSITION SUMMARY

The Donor Services Administrative Assistant will assist the VP of Donor Relations and Communications with the Donor Relations department’s administrative activities and coordinate various processes and projects. The position will also assist with fundraising activities as needed.
 
 PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  1. Input donor/donation information into The Raisers’ Edge and other Blackbaud programs in a timely and efficient manner.
  2.  Run reports, lists, and mailing lists as needed/requested. 
  3. Prepare and send donor letters, emails and other communications. 
  4. Support donor relations efforts by calling donors, scheduling tours, preparing meeting materials, running errands, manage projects. 
  5. Assist with fundraising events such as Fur Ball, Strutt With Your Mutt, Legacy of Love Society events and donor receptions. Includes reviewing mailing lists, taking/confirming reservations, making name tags and assisting donors while attending the events. 
  6. Make reservations; order supplies for the department; submit check requests; compile data for reporting purposes. 
  7. Other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues
  • Ability to resolve data input, storage and/or retrieval problems and to design solutions and modifications
  • Ability to work independently

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 Physical/Environmental
  • Work in office setting
  • Use of office equipment such as computer and keyboard, telephone, copy machines
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles
  • Noise level is moderate to high
  • Frequently working with and exposed to a variety of animals
 Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/Microsoft Office required
  • Blackbaud/Raiser’s Edge experience strongly preferred
