Position Overview:
The Kansas City Automotive Museum (KCAM) is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Donor Relations Coordinator to support fundraising efforts with a focus on our transformative Capital Campaign. This part-time position plays a key role in donor engagement, stewardship, and communications, helping build and maintain strong relationships with supporters of the Museum’s mission and future growth.
Reporting to the Development Director, the Donor Relations Coordinator will assist with donor tracking, correspondence, event coordination, and day-to-day campaign logistics. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain meaningful experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, and campaign operations while contributing to one of Kansas City’s most exciting cultural institutions.
Key Responsibilities:Donor Stewardship & Campaign Support (50%)
- Assist with execution of all Capital Campaign communication and donor outreach strategies.
- Draft acknowledgment letters, donor updates, and campaign mailings.
- Maintain accurate donor records and correspondence history in the Bloomerang.
- Prepare campaign materials and packets for donor meetings and events.
- Enter and manage donation records, pledge information, and contact updates.
- Help generate fundraising reports, donor lists, and mailing lists.
- Coordinate gift entry and documentation for campaign contributions.
- Assist with planning and logistics for campaign-related events, donor tours, and receptions.
- Support member and donor appreciation initiatives and mailings.
- Represent KCAM at select public events and support donor hospitality as needed.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in fundraising, development, customer service, or nonprofit administration.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and experience managing data or records.
- Comfortable working in a collaborative team setting and independently.
- Experience with donor databases or CRM systems (e.g., Bloomerang, DonorPerfect, Patron Manager).
- Prior experience working on a fundraising or capital campaign.
- Interest in museums, community engagement, or cultural nonprofits.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Availability for evening or weekend donor events.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
