Grants Manager

Responsibilities: The Grants Manager will be an active member of the Alphapointe Foundation and assist in expanding and diversifying the donation pipeline of Alphapointe. Secure grants and new revenue streams, communicate with donors and foundations, manage grant proposals, database, and build community investment and awareness.

Reporting: The Grants Manager will report to the Chief Development Officer of Alphapointe.

Essential Functions:

Grants and Donor Development Management

  • Manage grant writing and reporting requirements and ensure materials are prepared, reviewed, and submitted on schedule.
  • Prepare introductions, letters of intent, grant requests/proposals, grant reports, individual donor appeals, and similar fundraising materials as required to increase current support and generate new streams of revenue.
  • Understand and effectively communicate the goals, mission and vision of Alphapointe to current and prospective donors.
  • Handle special projects and individual donors as assigned.

Prospect Research & Database Management

  • Identify applicable funding opportunities (foundation, corporation and individual donors) and maintain a process of development, usage, and application.
  • Demonstrate a proven working ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse funding base and employee base.
  • Manage data integrations and ensure data integrity in Little Green Light and other relationship databases and systems as applicable.
  • Manage data entry and management of fundraising pipelines and revenue tracking.
  • Manage execution of all administrative donation processes.

Other Duties:

  • Be an active and engaged member of the team by offering inputs and ideas, participating in discussions on Development strategy and management, and helping peers to be successful in their roles.
  • Assist with fundraising and donor development events and activities as needed.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred. English, Journalism, Non-Profit Management, Public Relations or other course of study that requires strong writing ability is ideal.
  • 2-3 years of professional experience in positions with direct applicability to the roles and responsibilities outlined for this position: Grant writing, donor database management, and demonstrated success in non-profit fundraising and grants management is required.
  • A high degree of technological proficiency; advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) is required and experience working in a fundraising CRM is strongly preferred.
  • Superior organizational skills and attention to detail; proven ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills and the ability to engage and effectively communicate with a broad range of individuals.
  • Adaptable, curious, and articulate.
  • Ability to maintain an optimistic and positive working attitude.
  • Performs other duties as may be required.

Working Conditions:

  • Some local travel to area funding meetings.
  • Some participation with events and activities related to fundraising dept.

Salary Range:

  • $55,000 to $65,000/year
