CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties is seeking a Marketing & Events Manager who can combine strong storytelling, strategic marketing, and impactful event planning to grow community awareness and support for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.
Since 1985, CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties has served more than 5,700 children by training volunteers who are appointed by judges to advocate for the best interests of youth navigating the child welfare system. Our vision is a community where every child who has experienced abuse or neglect is given the opportunity to thrive.
 
This role will lead CASA’s marketing, communications, and signature fundraising events, ensuring our message reaches new volunteers, donors, and community partners who want to be part of the solution.
The Marketing & Events Manager reports to the Development Director and works closely with leadership, program staff, and volunteers to share CASA’s impact and strengthen community engagement.
 
What You’ll Do:
 
Lead Marketing & Communications

  • Manage social media platforms, email campaigns, and website updates
  • Create compelling stories that highlight volunteer advocates, youth outcomes, and CASA’s impact
  • Develop marketing materials for fundraising campaigns, volunteer recruitment, and community outreach
  • Track marketing analytics and engagement trends
  • Maintain consistent branding and messaging across all communications
Plan and Execute Fundraising Events
  • Lead planning for CASA’s signature events:
    • Promise of Hope (Spring)
    • Hops & Barley (Fall)
  • Coordinate venues, vendors, catering, and event logistics
  • Support sponsorship outreach and auction procurement
  • Develop and execute event marketing campaigns
  • Track budgets, ticket sales, sponsorships, and attendance
Strengthen Community Engagement
  • Support volunteer appreciation and community events
  • Coordinate third-party fundraising opportunities
  • Represent CASA at community events and networking opportunities
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field
  • At least two years of experience in marketing, communications, or event planning
  • Strong writing and storytelling skills
  • Experience with social media management, email marketing platforms, and website updates
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experience with nonprofit fundraising events preferred
  • This role requires occasional evening and weekend event support and the ability to assist with event setup.

Full-time employees receive generous paid time off ranging from 3–5 weeks annually, based on years of service, in addition to a schedule of paid holidays each year. Employees begin their roles working onsite to build strong connections with the team and organization, with the opportunity to work remotely up to two days per week after the first 90 days, with supervisor approval.
