Reports To: Director of Meetings & Events
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: TBD Based on Experience
About IAPD
IAPD – The Performance Plastics Association represents the performance plastics industry, bringing together distributors, manufacturers, fabricators, manufacturers’ representatives and service providers to advance the industry through education, networking and advocacy.
Our team supports a wide range of in-person and virtual programs throughout the year, including conventions, leadership programs, webinars, committee meetings and industry events across North America.
Position Overview
IAPD is seeking an Educational & Events Program Manager to support the planning and execution of meetings, education programs and member engagement initiatives.
This role is ideal for a highly organized, self-directed professional who enjoys managing the details behind successful events, and building/executing virtual educational programming. The Educational & Events Program Manager will play a key role in registration management, webinar administration, learning management system administration, reporting, customer service and supporting the day-to-day coordination of the association’s meetings and educational offerings.
While this position includes some travel for on-site event support, the primary focus of the role is program management and administration from IAPD headquarters in Overland Park, Kansas. This individual should be comfortable working independently, managing multiple priorities and proactively identifying solutions to challenges as they arise.
The ideal candidate is calm under pressure, detail-oriented, technically capable and takes pride in delivering a high level of service to members, speakers, sponsors and volunteers.
Who Would Be a Good Fit
The ideal candidate brings experience supporting both meetings/events and educational programming, or strong experience in one area paired with genuine professional interest in developing expertise in the other. This role is designed for someone who is excited by the opportunity to work across multiple areas of association programming, including in-person events, virtual education, webinar administration, course development and committee management.
IAPD is willing to train the right candidate on software platforms, workflows and organizational processes that support both educational programming and meetings/events management. The ideal candidate is curious, adaptable and enthusiastic about continuing to build skills across both sides of the role while contributing as a collaborative member of a small, fast-paced association team.
This role also works closely with multiple volunteer committees and task forces throughout the year. The ideal candidate should be comfortable communicating professionally with volunteer leaders, managing timelines and agendas and helping keep committee initiatives moving forward.
