Director of Finance

The Director of Finance spearheads the Finance Department across the organization’s core Finance areas of responsibility and ensures the department can produce and improve Finance work products across those areas, in support of the organization’s strategic goals.
 
PRIMARY DUTIES: This position will Direct and assist a team of staff in the Finance Department, ensuring recurring Finance Department work is completed across the department’s areas of ownership. This includes technical interpretations; policies and standards; goals, strategies, and plans; processes and procedures; determinations and resolutions; numerical outputs and explanations; and communications. The Director will drive adoption of finance technologies and automations and support cross-functional leaders by translating financial requirements, analyses, risks, and decisions into usable guidance.

OTHER ASPECTS OF THE JOB:
·        Must be comfortable with the use of general office equipment, such as computers, copiers and fax.
·        Must be comfortable spending 95% of time doing stationary work at the computer terminal.
·        Must have a commitment to the mission of Harvesters.
·        This position requires an understanding of all Harvesters food safety policies and compliance with all food safety related procedures.
·        Must be highly computer literate, with in-depth experience in accounting software and MS Excel.
 
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:
·        Required Experience: 7 years of experience in accounting/finance, to include at least 3 years in a financial leadership role.
·        Preferred Experience: Two years of experience working in the nonprofit industry or in industries with inventory, warehousing, and/or logistics elements.
·        Required Education: Requires Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
·        Preferred Education: Education: CPA or Master’s degree in finance-related field.
