CHC Grant Writer Job Description 

CHC’s grant writer is responsible for researching, drafting, and submitting proposals, monitoring grant implementation, and overseeing grant reports that help secure funding for sustainability. This role involves identifying potential grant opportunities, gathering supporting documentation, and collaborating with program staff to ensure all proposals align with organizational goals and funding requirements. The Grant Writer also maintains records of submitted and pending proposals, tracks deadlines, and manages follow-up communications with funders. 

Responsibilities:  

  • Research and identify new public and private funding prospects. 

  • Write clear, compelling grant proposals and reports tailored to specific funding guidelines in collaboration with stakeholders. 

  • Collaborate with program, finance, and leadership teams to identify program needs and gather relevant program data, client stories, and narratives. 

  • Maintain a calendar of grant proposal and reporting deadlines to ensure timely submissions. 

  • Track results of submitted proposals and manage funder relationships. 

  • Stay informed about trends and best practices in nonprofit funding and grant writing. 

  • Conduct research on challenges, demographics, and more to enrich grant proposals 

  • Monitor KPIs and document data in CRM 

  • Track awarded proposals and monitor grant implementation 

  • Collaborate with staff and external stakeholders for grant reports and funder updates 

Successful candidates typically possess strong written communication skills, attention to detail, creative problem-solving skills, and experience in fundraising or nonprofit management. The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced working environment, who can collaborate with diverse staff for deliverables, is comfortable juggling competing deadlines and priorities, and who embodies values of equity and collaboration. Familiarity with grant databases and excellent organizational abilities are also essential. CHC is also looking for someone who has the skills and experience to manage up and across with internal and external stakeholders, is highly organized and an effective communicator, is self-motivated and driven by a desire for excellence, can set expectations and manage project timelines to meet deadlines, is committed to antiracism and equity, and who is an excellent writer, keen editor, and enthusiastic researcher.? A sense of humor is highly valued. 

Job Type: Full Time,Part Time

Salary Range: $50,000 - 74,999
