What You'll Be Paid (actual pay depends on qualifications): $32.29 - $48.43/hour
How It's Classified: Fulltime-Regular (40 hrs, Full Benefits)
The Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 3pm-11pm
The Location: Mission, KS

Johnson County has implemented a skill-based pay plan of up to $4200 annually for staff who have obtained licensure by the BSRB at the Clinical Level.

The Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT) is hiring a Mental Health Clinician to provide mobile mental health crisis and outreach. MCRT is comprised of crisis case managers and licensed clinicians based out of the Mission office but geared toward work in the community. This is for the evening shift that normally works Monday – Friday 3 p.m. – 11 p.m. Flexibility is necessary for the evening position due to daytime meetings and trainings.
MCRT is dedicated to resolving emergency situations by providing brief and intensive services to reduce individuals’ needs for hospitalization and law enforcement interaction when possible and supporting client connection to resources including but not limited to mental health care.

The Crisis Clinician will have two primary roles on the team. First, the Crisis Clinician will be paired with a MCRT Crisis Case Manager to provide mobile crisis response (see work schedule for current availability). The pair will be dispatched by JCMHC’s 988 Crisis Line team to safely respond to behavioral health crises occurring in the community. Safety is critical in these roles and the pair will request law enforcement support at their discretion. The pair will de-escalate, assess and support individuals through their crisis and complete timely follow up, either by phone or at their home, to ensure the individual connects to appropriate resources and/or the crisis has resolved.

The second role of the Crisis Clinician is to provide ongoing clinical support for clients on MCRT case managers’ caseloads. This includes outreach visits with MCRT case managers to high acuity clients or those with complex circumstances for the purposes of clinical assessment, safety planning, and crisis stabilization.
The qualified candidate will have a strong desire to provide intensive crisis intervention services to the community, be well versed in suicide and safety assessments, be willing to strongly advocate for the best interests of the clients we serve and have a strong passion for Public Service. This position will remain open until filled.
