Director of National Talent Acquisition
The Director of National Talent Acquisition is a visionary workforce development leader responsible for designing, implementing, and leading a comprehensive national recruitment strategy that positions the Kansas City region as one of America's premier destinations for educators.
Working on behalf of the Teach KC Collaborative, the Director will build a seamless educator talent pipeline by recruiting outstanding teachers, aspiring educators, career changers, military veterans, recent college graduates, and diverse talent from across the country. This position will develop strategic partnerships with National Urban League affiliates, colleges and universities, educator preparation programs, professional associations, school districts, charter schools, workforce organizations, and national education networks to strengthen the educator workforce across the Kansas City metropolitan region.
This executive-level position serves as the Collaborative's chief strategist for educator talent acquisition and owns the overall recruitment strategy, systems, standards, partnerships, and performance for Teach KC. The Director provides leadership and supervision to the Regional Talent Acquisition Manager and ensures day-to-day recruitment activity is aligned with Collaborative goals, consistent candidate experience standards, and measurable workforce outcomes.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop and Lead the National Recruitment Strategy
- Design and execute an innovative national educator recruitment strategy.
- Position Kansas City as a destination for educators.
- Establish annual recruitment goals, performance metrics, and recruitment standards.
- Develop recruitment campaigns targeting high-demand certification areas.
- Create data-driven recruitment initiatives and use performance data to refine strategy.
- Establish systems and processes that support consistent candidate recruitment, engagement, tracking, referral, and reporting across Teach KC.
Build National Recruitment Partnerships
Develop strategic partnerships with:
- National Urban League Affiliates

- Alternative Certification Providers
- Teach For America

Lead Talent Acquisition and Team Performance
- Lead national recruitment efforts for experienced teachers, new graduates, career changers, retired military personnel, diverse educator candidates, STEM educators, Special Education teachers, bilingual educators, and school leaders.
- Provide direct supervision, coaching, goal-setting, and performance support to the Regional Talent Acquisition Manager.
- Define recruitment workflows, candidate service standards, referral protocols, and accountability measures for regional recruitment activity.
- Oversee development and use of an educator talent database that serves participating districts and charter schools.
- Review pipeline data and regional recruitment performance, identify gaps, and direct adjustments to improve outcomes.
Marketing & Brand Development
- Serve as the public face of Teach KC recruitment.
- Oversee national marketing campaigns, digital recruitment strategies, social media campaigns, recruitment videos, candidate success stories, and virtual information sessions.
- Represent Teach KC at national conferences, career fairs, university recruitment events, and education association meetings.
Candidate Experience Standards and Systems
- Establish and oversee the overall candidate journey and service standards for Teach KC recruitment.
- Ensure systems and partnerships are in place to connect candidates with certification pathways, Missouri licensure support, relocation and housing resources, employment opportunities, mentorship, and community integration.
- Monitor candidate experience and conversion data and implement improvements across the recruitment pipeline.
- Partner with the Regional Talent Acquisition Manager to resolve candidate barriers and strengthen referral and placement pathways.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree preferred.
- Minimum three years of experience in talent acquisition, workforce development, education leadership, higher education recruitment, or executive search.
- Experience developing strategic partnerships.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Demonstrated success leading regional or national recruitment initiatives.
Preferred
- Prior supervisory, people management, or team leadership experience.
- Experience in one or more of the following: Talent Acquisition, K-12 education, Human Resources, Workforce Development, Higher Education, Diversity Recruitment, Public Relations, or Strategic Planning.

Salary Range
Competitive, commensurate with experience.
