Title: Human Resources Manager

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Human Resources Manager supports the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) by managing day-to-day HR operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and providing guidance to staff and supervisors on personnel matters. This role focuses on implementation rather than strategic development.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Implements and enforces organizational policies and procedures related to personnel matters.
  2. Maintains knowledge of employment legislation and assists in ensuring compliance.
  3. Oversees routine compliance activities for federal, state, and local employment laws.
  4. Communicates policy changes and ensures proper adherence at the departmental level.
  5. Assists with wage and salary administration by providing data and supporting implementation.
  6. Administers employee benefits, including open enrollment, COBRA, and related processes.
  7. Manages recruiting efforts, interviews, onboarding, and new hire orientation.
  8. Conducts exit interviews and reports findings to CHRO.
  9. Provides guidance to department managers on personnel issues and policy interpretation.
  10. Coordinates staff development activities as directed by CHRO.
  11. Maintains HRIS data integrity and generates routine reports.
  12. Participates in HR committees and events as assigned.
  13. Supervises HR support staff for daily tasks and ensures compliance with HR procedures.
  14. Regular and predictable attendance.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five years in Human Resources.
  • Minimum of three years in supervisory or management role.

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • SHRM Certification.
  • Experience with HRIS systems.
  • Personal experience with a disability.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This position spends a portion of their time in the office, but also will travel locally and state wide to attend meetings.  While performing the duties of this job the employee has the potential to encounter unpredictable clients.  The position has mostly an inside work environment and occasional outside work, traveling from one location to another, with exposure to weather conditions.
