Human Resources Coordinator (Full Time)

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Human Resources Coordinator supports the Human Resources Department by assisting with various functions, including administrative tasks and onboarding processes. This position also serves as support for various human resources roles and other HR led initiatives.
 
POSITION DUTIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Percentage
Performs various HR administrative tasks, including, but not limited to:
  • Communicating job offers and assisting candidates through pre-employment process.
  • Pre-employment drug and background screenings.
  • Creating and submitting various required reports.
  • Employment verifications.
  • Fulfilling employee incentives (complementary tickets, giveaways, etc.).
  • Maintaining and updating employee/departmental files.
  • Some data entry.
  • Serving as support for various HR roles and tasks, as needed.

Supports HR orientation and training processes, including:
  • Ensuring new hires complete onboarding processes and are entered into the HRIS system accurately.
  • Assisting with employee orientation sessions, organizing materials, and/or serving as backup presenter, as needed.

Assists with various HR led initiatives, such as:
  • Employee engagement strategies, including events, wellness programs, etc.
  • Safety related programs.

*This position may at times be requested to perform other duties or special projects as assigned, which are in the best interest of the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium.  Duty percentages are an approximation and may vary based on department needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. EDUCATION & FORMAL TRAINING:
    1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
    2. Some post-secondary education preferred.
  2. EXPERIENCE:
    1. Previous administrative/office experience preferred.
    2. Multilingual skills welcomed.
    3. Ability to represent the company in a professional and positive manner.
    4. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
    5. Takes initiative and has a strong work ethic.
    6. Great interpersonal skills with candidates of all ages and backgrounds.
    7. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, required.
    8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  3. OTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    1. Must have valid driver’s license.
    2. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and evening hours, in all weather extremes.
    3. Must pass a background and drug screening.

Job Type: Full Time

Salary Range: $30,000 - 49,999
