Jewish Family Services (www.jfskc.org) supports and strengthens lives throughout Greater Kansas City. We provide essential human services for people of all faiths, ages, cultures, and identities who are facing challenges in everyday life or times of crisis. Our highly skilled and compassionate staff are dedicated to preserving the well-being, comfort, and dignity of others, always respecting the confidentiality of our clients. JFS proudly serves more than 10,000 people annually, with a breadth of related services including KesherKC (social services and food pantry), Older Adult Services, Mental Health and Education, and Jewish Life including Chaplaincy.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The clinical internship at Jewish Family Services is a stipend paid clinical position. Our internships are typically nine months or one year depending on graduate program requirement.
Our intern will provide therapy and related services to children, youth, and families. Interns will gradually work up to 15 clinical hours per week. Approximately 70% of this time is allocated to direct client contact; and 30% consists of supervision, training, case consultations, and administrative duties. Interns will report to the JFS Clinical Director.

POSITION SUMMARY
The intern will be dedicated to serving the diverse needs of their clients. They will be employing therapeutic evidence-based practices to address a range of emotional and behavioral needs. The intern will have strong clinical skills, in addition to conducting assessments and tailoring individualized treatment plans. They will also foster a collaborative approach to support clients from various backgrounds and experiences. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide all services utilizing a strengths-based, family-focused, and integrated approach.
• Provides counseling and related services to children, youth and families as assigned.
• Provides services in a manner that expedites the meeting of contract requirements and program outcomes.
• Demonstrates commitment to diversity, cultural relevancy, and inclusion.
• Engage in on-going self-exploration and growth related to race, power, and privilege.
• Participates in creating and maintaining a workplace that values diversity and treats everyone with respect without regard to race, color, age, religion, creed, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, marital status, the presence of any sensory, mental, or physical disability.
• Demonstrates teamwork and open communication.
• Maintains documentation in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.
• Follows agency policies and procedures.
• Follows Code of Ethics.
• Performs other appropriate tasks related to your professional role as needed.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
• Prompt and consistent attendance during scheduled working hours.
• Enrollment in a master’s degree program for clinical counseling, psychology, social work, marriage, and family therapy.
• Previous mental health or human service experience.
• Experience with diverse client groups.
• Ability to work in an unstructured and unpredictable setting, ability to adapt to change.
