Girls on the Run Kansas City Marketing and Development Coordinator

Girls on the Run Serving Greater Kansas City (GOTRKC) is seeking a part-time Marketing and
Development Coordinator (up to 30 hours per week). This role supports both the marketing and
development (fundraising) functions of the organization. Responsibilities include managing marketing
content, supporting donor communications, assisting with development campaigns, and providing onsite
support for special events.

The ideal candidate is creative, collaborative, organized, self-initiating, and adaptable in a fast-paced
nonprofit environment. A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, nonprofit management, or
a related field OR equivalent professional experience is required. Applicants must also submit a
portfolio demonstrating relevant work (print materials, video, digital communications, or campaign
examples).

Marketing Responsibilities:

  • Manage content for GOTRKC’s website, social media, email marketing, and print communications
  • Create content as well as manage advertising needs for all program and special event promotions
  • Maintain brand standards and serve as ambassador for GOTRKC voice
  • Track marketing performance for data-informed strategy
  • Manage external vendor relationships to assist with marketing needs
Development Responsibilities
  • Donor communications, including newsletters, impact reports, and stewardship pieces
  • Fundraising campaigns, including year-end appeals, giving days, and sponsorship outreach
  • Maintain accurate donor information and data tracking in partnership with the development team
  • Contribute to grant-related content gathering (photos, stories, data) as needed
Special Events Responsibilities
  • Provide marketing support and on-site assistance for GOTRKC events, including seasonal 5Ks, fundraisers, and community engagement events
  • Assist with event planning logistics as needed
General Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Girls on the Run role model, exhibiting GOTR core values and supporting mission advancement
  • Build positive, collaborative relationships with staff, volunteers, donors, families, and the board
  • Support organizational needs, including occasional evening or weekend hours
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience (required)
  • Portfolio submission required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Canva
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong team orientation with the ability to collaborate effectively
  • Flexibility and adaptability to shifting needs and priorities
  • Alignment with the Girls on the Run mission and core values
  • Previous Girls on the Run experience or familiarity with GOTR programs is a plus
