Marketing & Engagement Coordinator

Position Summary
The Marketing & Engagement Coordinator supports Central Exchange’s marketing, membership, and program initiatives to enhance engagement and visibility. This role creates email and social media campaigns, updates the website, and creates compelling content to promote membership, programs, and signature events.
In addition to marketing execution (50%), this role provides event and program support (25%), including setup, logistics, and on-site engagement. The coordinator also handles Emerging Leaders administration (20%), from application processing to graduation coordination, and assists with general administrative tasks (5%). This position plays a key role in strengthening Central Exchange’s community presence and ensuring a seamless experience for members, partners, and event attendees.
The Marketing & Engagement Coordinator reports to the Director of Marketing and Operations and will have the following responsibilities:
Marketing & Content Creation (50%)
• Write and design email marketing campaigns in Constant Contact based on the marketing strategy and plan designed by the Director of Marketing and Operations.
• Manage Central Exchange’s social media pages and private groups, including writing, designing, and publishing posts.
• Capture photos and videos during all programs/events and share them across CX’s social channels.
• Assist in writing and designing print materials for signature events and other marketing collateral.
• Manage and maintain email lists in Constant Contact.
• Gather information to write the Member Spotlights in the bi-weekly eNews.
• Expand and strengthen CX's social media presence across various platforms.
• Update the Central Exchange website as needed.
• Write and upload blog posts, announcements, and newsworthy content to the website.
• Draft and distribute press releases as needed.
CX Programs and Signature Events (25%)
• Assist the Manager of Programs & Events with program setup and cleanup, including acting as backup during vacations or sick days.
• Attend all in-person programs (approx. 7-9 per month) to engage with members and guests and distribute parking passes.
• Attend all virtual programs (approx. 1-2 per month) to help admit attendees into the Zoom room and engage in the chat.
• Assist with creating and printing name tags for programs.
• Collaborate with the team to plan, promote, and execute the annual Midwest Leadership Summit and STEMMy Awards.
• Assist with the membership/information booth at signature events.
• Assist with recruiting, training, and managing volunteers at the Midwest Leadership Summit.
Emerging Leaders Administration (20%)
• Process participant applications and collaborate with CFO to generate invoices.
• Set up and clean up for Emerging Leaders sessions (3x/month).
• Send emails to current participants with upcoming programs they should attend.
• Design and execute emails and social media posts for the annual Emerging Leaders recruitment campaign.
• Collaborate with the team to plan and promote alumni and all-cohort events.
• Assist in coordinating annual graduation ceremonies.
• Prepare materials for the new Emerging Leaders program year that begins in October.
• Help keep Emerging Leaders alumni spreadsheets up-to-date with new contact information as needed.
Administration Support (5%)
• Collect mail 2-3 times weekly and deposit checks at the bank.
• Monitor and respond to messages in the general email inboxes and Google voicemail.
• Assist members with login issues and updating their information in MemberZone and Constant Contact.
• Oversee the ordering and distribution of member badges and other promotional items for members.
• Upload job postings for CX Partners to MemberZone.
• Handle ad hoc projects as assigned.
Education, Work Experience, Travel
Education: A bachelor’s degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and/or years of experience that demonstrates possession of qualifications.
Work Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of professional experience in marketing and across one or more of the following: digital communications, graphic design, event management, public relations, and customer relationships.
Work Environment: This is a hybrid position with a varying amount of days weekly in the office and travel across various venues around the Kansas City metropolitan area.
Qualifications, Skills and Requirements
• Professional experience with Adobe Design Products or Canva, email platforms (e.g., Constant Contact, Mail Chimp, or similar products), and Microsoft Products (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively work with team members across a wide variety of projects.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to effectively represent the organization with members, corporate partners, and speakers.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks independently and with a team.
• Flexible to changing environments and organizational needs.

Compensation and Benefits
This position is full-time, non-exempt/hourly, with approximately 40 hours per week expected. A competitive compensation package is provided, including base salary and benefits package.
