Director of Operations
Wonderscope seeks a Director of Operations to oversee the museum's day-to-day infrastructure to the highest standards. The candidate must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and flexible. They must be skilled at building and maintaining internal systems and believe in the power of experiential education to inspire a lifelong love of learning.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Oversee museum operations and physical plant in concert with the facilities team.
2. Develop, update, and maintain training manuals and videos as needed.
3. Maintain emergency drill guidelines and schedule drills as required.
4. Maintain a staff training calendar for all staff throughout the year.
5. Manage any IT and telephone issues
6. Manager HR responsibilities for the organization, including but not limited to:
- Onboarding of all staff
- Maintaining all employment documents, payroll information, health & dental insurance, etc.
- Prepare and submit payroll.
- Annual Staff Survey.
7. Supervise the facilities team, Guest Services Manager, and Welcome Desk staff.
8. Serve as the lead staff on the Operations Committee of the Board of Directors.
9. Ability to work in a team setting where a high degree of daily communication is required.
10. Must care about and value the viewpoints of other team members with different areas of responsibility.
11. Serve on the executive team of the museum and attend regular board meetings.
12. Must be able to work independently and multi-task in a vibrant, fast-paced environment.
13. Enjoy working in an environment that values young children and play.
14. High level of energy, enthusiasm, flexibility, and patience.
Skills required:
1. Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of five years experience in a similar field
2. Experience in working and communicating with diverse staff team
3. Ability to manage several tasks as required.
4. Working understanding and knowledge of MS Office software.
5. Willingness to interact with young children.
Wonderscope offers a generous PTO policy, health, dental, and 401K plan.
Salary range: $50,000 - $65,000
