Full-Time Seasonal Night Facilities Technician

Role Title:  Full-Time Seasonal Night Facilities Technician
Reports to:  Facilities Manager
Supervises: N/A
Classification:  Seasonal/Full-time/Exempt
Pay Grade/Salary Range:  $16.00 per hour
                
Role purpose: The Facilities Technician night position is responsible for the in-show and post-show event cleaning operation and physical appearance of Starlight Theatre. Responsibilities include overseeing and managing the cleaning of all front of house and show areas including the seating bowl, restrooms, trash and recycling removal, and restoring the venue to tip-top shape after events. 
 
Required Accountabilities & Deliverables:
  • Embraces Starlight’s mission, vision, values, and commitment to Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access.
  • Managing the contract labor cleaning crew.
  • Oversight of waste and recycling collection and disposal.
  • Restroom and general facility cleaning including power washing, mopping, scrubbing, hosing down the seating bowl with a high-pressure hose, sanitizing, stocking, and use of cleaning chemicals.
  • Supply inventory skills.
  • Maintenance and troubleshooting.

  • Able to work independently, as well as part of a small but critically important team.
  • Must be a problem-solver who is self-motivated and flexible.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Strong organizing and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
 Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:
  • General maintenance and janitorial experience.
  • General preparation and oversite experience.
  • Knowledge of show sets (setting tables, chairs, pipe, drape, etc.) is helpful but not required.
Other Working Conditions:
  • Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Ability to use ladders up to 30 ft. and work comfortably at heights exceeding 25 ft.
  • May need to crawl, crouch, balance, stoop, kneel, or stand for long periods.
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
This role is primarily an outdoor job with a demanding varying workweek schedule of 40 hours per week, from 5:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m., but these hours may vary depending on weather, events, holidays, and other factors.
