HDC Warehouse & Distribution Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY
Successfully promotes and supports the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas (CCNEK) as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings through the procurement, storage and distribution of food and other goods to agency and community partner locations. Supervises the daily operations of CCNEK’s Hope Distribution Center to ensure continuous availability of food, supplies and other inventory. Implements and executes operational initiatives in support of the agency’s strategic plan. Supports vehicle/fleet management across the agency. CCNEK is an equal opportunity employer. - Ensures adequate levels of inventory through forecasting, ordering, storage and distribution.
- Ensures appropriate levels of staffing.
- Supervises warehouse and driver staff assigning tasks, routes or other activities as necessary.
- Maintains warehouse and distribution activities in accordance with food-safety, life-safety and best practices.
- Ensures compliance with Feeding America, OSHA, local/state standards, and other community partners as required.
- Coordinates and leads agency Mass Food Distribution events, requiring some occasional weekend work.
- Collaborate with other agency departments in the coordination of volunteers to ensure appropriate support, provides training and ensures the safety of staff, volunteers and clients in the distribution activities.
- Collaborates with other departments to help maximize fleet effectiveness, often requiring sharing of resources.
- Maintains accurate records on inventory control, documenting and reporting on weight, source and destination of inventory.
- Ensures the proper maintenance and repairs to agency equipment at the warehouse and vehicles used in the transportation of food and other items.
- Coordinate and/or support food drives, food rescue, grocery store pickups and other donation sources on an ongoing basis.
- Identifies and schedules routes for staff and volunteers.
- Fill in where needed on routes or in warehouse.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

writing including the use of social media or other digital technologies - Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as
required - Demonstrate a passion for the mission of CCNEK as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings.
- 2 years warehouse and supervisory experience;
- 1-2 years material management and/or distribution experience, preferably in a food industry
- Strong skills in organization and management; prior experience establishing and/or managing systems to track data and product
- Knowledge and skills in problem solving, analysis, communication, and opportunity identification.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with a variety of audiences internally and externally.
- Enthusiastic, positive outlook.
- Proficiency in Excel and Word.
- Must have and/or able to pass DOT certification and Fork Lift Certification
- Must have a valid Kansas or Missouri driver’s license. Must provide copy of driver’s license and proof of insurance
- Willing to operate automatic and manual company vehicles on a routine basis
- Ability to learn to operate moving control devices such as a power pallet jack and forklift to transfer materials between the unloading and loading process
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Extensive walking in the warehouse and back and forth to the office. Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
- Able to stand for long periods of time; may also be required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Must be able to bend, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
- Work is primarily performed in a warehouse area where the worker is subject to temperature changes, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, and vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, and/or gases.
