Operations Director

The Operations Director provides leadership and oversight for the daily operations of Connections to Success (CtS), ensuring all organizational functions run efficiently and effectively. This role works closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to translate strategic priorities into actionable systems and processes that strengthen organizational performance and sustainability.

The Operations Director oversees key operational areas, including Accounting, Human Resources, Facilities, and Information Technology, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. This position plays a critical role in stabilizing and strengthening operational systems in the short term, while also building long-term infrastructure to support organizational growth and mission-aligned outcomes.

 
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
 

  • Maintain confidentiality of all participant information
  • Oversee daily operations across HR, finance, facilities, IT and administrative functions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with HR, finance and IT contractors
  • Implement and maintain efficient systems and workflows that ensure consistency, accountability, and compliance.
  • Serve as the point person for operational troubleshooting and staff support, removing barriers to success.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and prepare regular updates for leadership.
  • Partner with the CEO, Accounting Provider and Grants Manager to manage budgeting, cash flow, and reporting.
  • Monitor organizational spending and ensure compliance with funding and audit requirements.
  • Review and approve bills, invoices, and organizational expenses to ensure accuracy and adherence to budget.
  • Oversee staff credit card usage, ensuring all charges are properly documented, coded, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Monitor monthly credit card and expense reports, reconciling discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain internal financial controls to safeguard organizational assets and ensure compliance with policies and funder requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve cost-efficiency and operational sustainability.
  • Support strategic financial planning aligned with organizational goals.
  • Partner with HR provider to manage recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and employee relations.
  • Support supervisors in performance management, coaching, and staff development.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with CtS’s mission and values.
  • Ensure HR policies and compliance requirements are consistently upheld.
  • Strengthen administrative and operational systems to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead implementation of tools and processes that improve coordination and accountability.
  • Ensure documentation, policies, and records are well-organized and maintained.
  • Anticipate and plan for future infrastructure needs as the organization grows.
  • Manage facility operations, equipment, and safety protocols.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with landlords to address building needs, repairs, lease compliance, and site improvements.
  • Coordinate facility-related projects, inspections, and vendor services to ensure consistent quality and functionality across all sites.
  • Oversee vendor contracts, purchasing, and operational partnerships.
  • Maintain organizational insurance, licensing, and risk management systems.
  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to align operations with strategic priorities.
  • Build scalable systems and structures to support long-term growth and impact.
  • Lead cross-department coordination to ensure operational alignment and communication.
  • Model CtS’s values of integrity, collaboration, and excellence in all aspects of work.
Experience & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Nonprofit Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 5-10 years of progressive experience in nonprofit or business operations management.
  • Proven experience managing organizational daily operations, including HR, and financial systems.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to partner effectively with staff and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Information:
This position is full-time, salary, exempt position. Employees will be eligible for full benefits including health, retirement, and vacation benefits on the first of the month following hire date.

Salary Range:
$85,000 - $100,000 annually
