The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art is looking for a talented Associate Photographer to join our dynamic Strategic Marketing Solutions team!

What You’ll Do
- Capture the Moment: You’ll shoot and edit high-quality still images for a variety of museum needs, including events, exhibitions, and gallery installations.
- Make Art Accessible: Assist in digitizing the museum’s collection, ensuring accurate and visually stunning representations of priceless works.
- Collaborate & Plan: Work closely with the Digital Production & Preservation team and internal partners to strategize and execute over 100+ photography projects per year.
- Studio & Equipment Management: Help maintain our photography studio and mobile equipment to keep everything in top shape for seamless shoots.
- Enhance Our Visual Identity: Contribute to the museum’s storytelling through dynamic imagery used in marketing, social media, and digital platforms.
- Explore Video & Mentorship: Occasionally step into video production and provide guidance to interns and volunteers working on special projects.
Who You Are
- A creative storyteller with 5-10 years of professional experience in digital photography, ideally in a museum or nonprofit setting.
- A technical expert proficient in digital 35mm, medium- and large-format photography, lighting setups, and post-production editing.
- Experienced in event, architecture, portrait, food, and product photography.
- A master of Adobe Creative Suite, digital asset management systems (DAMs), and color management techniques.
- Organized and adaptable, able to juggle multiple projects while maintaining high-quality results.
- Enthusiastic about the intersection of art, technology, and storytelling.
