Digital Engagement Manager

Reporting to the Senior Director of Marketing, Communications, and Engagement, the Digital Engagement Manager is pivotal in driving content strategy and brand visibility across audience touchpoints on social media and email within our three brands—Kansas City PBS, 90.9 The Bridge and Flatland. With a focus on evolving media trends, the Digital Engagement Manager identifies impactful engagement strategies across various digital distribution channels to keep our organization agile in the constantly evolving digital landscape. This management role includes supervision of the Digital Engagement Assistant

JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee social media content and campaign strategies for all current social media platforms for Kansas City PBS, 90.9 The Bridge and Flatland brands.
  • Supervise the work of the Digital Engagement Assistant including, but not limited to, conducting annual evaluations and directing the manner and performance of the Assistant’s work.
  • Ensure social media copy aligns with brand voice, tone and style guidelines across channels and platforms.
  • Proof social media copy produced by the Digital Engagement Assistant.
  • Identify opportunities for audience growth, partner engagement and increased promotional reach on social media platforms.
  • Educate staff on best practices and organizational policies for social media.
  • Work cross-departmentally to advise on email marketing strategies and industry best practices.
  • Research and implement emerging trends and techniques in digital engagement.
  • Analyze digital campaign performances across social media and email platforms and suggest improvements.? Consult with email contributors on robust A/B testing strategies and best practices to increase engagement among email recipients.
  • Oversee proper utilization of the email platform and provide training to staff as needed.
  • Lead in creating automated email sequences and customer journey strategies in the email platform.
  • Oversee strategy to maintain data hygiene for email distribution lists.
  • Serve as oversight and the last line of defense, editing all public-facing email and social media copy, checking for clarity, grammar and typos.
  • Advise on upgrades to email templates using graphics, personalization and advanced features.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Marketing, Communications and Engagement of Kansas City PBS, Flatland, 90.9 The Bridge.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

? Strong judgment about visuals and photography.
? Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
? Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with internal and external audiences.
? Experience in email distribution and proven history of adherence to email best practices.
? Strong knowledge of and experience with email marketing platforms (i.e., Iterable, MailChimp, Constant Contact, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (an equivalent amount of training, education experience will be considered):

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in communications, marketing, journalism or a related field. Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
• Experience growing a digital audience across multiple platforms.
• Working knowledge of Trello or other project management tools.
• Familiarity with social media analytics and management tools such as Brandwatch, Hootsuite, Sprout Social, Meta Business Suite, Creator Studio, and Google Analytics 4. Please note: This is NOT a bargaining unit position.
