Part-Time Fundraising Assistant

Location: Lenexa, KS
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 15–20 hours per week (seasonal with peak activity around major fundraisers)
Reports To: Executive Director

Position Summary
The Part-time Fundraising Assistant will play a key role in supporting the Executive Director as well as the Fundraising/Events Executive Committee in planning, organization, and execution of two major fundraising events and general fundraising. Two major fundraisers: the Art for the Children Gala (Saturday, March 28, 2026) and the Medical Missions Foundation Golf Classic (Fall 2026). This part-time position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about helping others through event-based philanthropy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with event logistics, including guest communications, ticket sales, and registration management
  • Coordinate donor and sponsor communications, including acknowledgment letters, emails, and follow-ups
  • Help manage auction items—solicitation, tracking, packaging, and display coordination
  • Support social media and marketing efforts related to event promotion and general marketing
  • Update donor and sponsor information in the organization’s donor management system
  • Assist at in-person events, including setup, check-in, and on-site support
  • Provide administrative support for post-event tasks such as data entry, thank-you letters, and reporting
  • Assist staff as needed for general office and/or mission support as needed. 

Qualifications
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks at once
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a small team environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (experience with donor management software a plus)
  • Prior experience with fundraising, events, or nonprofit work preferred
  • Experience with social media campaigns 
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and assist with event setup as needed
  • Availability to work occasional evenings or weekends during events
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation required for local errands, donation pickups, and event deliveries

Compensation
  • Hourly position, commensurate with experience ($18–$22/hour)
  • Flexible schedule in and out of office
