Program Manager

Posted: 11/16/2025

At Wildwood, we create life-changing experiences where Kansas City area kids  grow their curiosity, responsibility, and kindness.  We remove barriers to outdoor learning for low-income kids by reducing costs, providing free transportation, and recruiting through a network of neighborhoods and community agencies. Our core programs include overnight camp, day camp, respite weekends, retreats, outdoor education and rentals.

We are currently recruiting for two full-time, year-round camp leaders:

Manager, Summer Camp and Respite
This role ensures summer day and overnight camp and respite programs run smoothly and safely, supports camper behavior management using trauma-informed approaches, and maintains strong relationships with camper families. They lead seasonal staff to create a positive camp culture that fosters belonging, growth, curiosity and social-emotional learning. They help design and evaluate year-round engagement opportunities to increase camper retention and strengthen community connections.

Manager, Food Systems and Facilities
This role oversees environment-based education, manages kitchen operations that prioritize nutrition and sustainability, and coordinates facility projects that enhance the camp experience and hospitality for guests. This role collaborates across departments to align food service, maintenance, and program goals, ensuring that operations support camper learning and organizational efficiency while modeling care for people and the planet. This manager works closely with rental groups, agrotourism partners, and develops earned income opportunities for facility use.

Both positions require living and working on-site at our camp outside of Louisburg, KS during summer months (June to August). We are open to a variety of living and working locations and arrangements including year-round onsite housing.

Starting salaries of $45,000-$52,500 include 100% employee health, disability and life insurance and a 3% retirement match. Flexible schedules, remote work when feasible, and generous time off including vacation, sick and post-camp.
