Great Jobs KC, Inc. (dba KC Scholars) (www.greatjobskc.org) is a 501(c)(3) college scholarship and tuition-free job training program. Its goal is to support persistence and increase the college completion rate for low- and modest-income students across the six-county, bi-state service region and secure family-sustaining careers. The organization was designed to change thousands of individual lives and transform the region by preparing the local future workforce and contributing to the regional economy. The KC Scholars Scholarship Program awards traditional college scholarships to high school juniors, adult learner scholarships to adults 18 years and older, and college savings match awards to high school freshmen. The Great Jobs KC program provides tuition assistance to approved career training programs in high-demand industries such as construction, healthcare, information technology, logistics/warehousing, manufacturing and service careers. With the support of Great Jobs KC, adults 17+ and older can learn the skills needed in one year or less to secure a job with family-sustaining wages. Great Jobs KC supports all its Scholars throughout their college or job training and into their first year of employment.                                                                                       

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reports to:                 Director of Strategic Planning & Special Projects  

Location:                   Kansas City, MO

                                  Hybrid

Status:                       Exempt, Full-time

Salary:                        Annual salary based on experience

Operating hours:         8:30 am to 5:00 pm CST

 

Key Performance Indicators:

·        Ensure proper tracking of all Projects and Tasks and strive to achieve 90% of them to be delivered on time within budget.

·        Assist in managing project expectations of stakeholders by providing relevant and timely reporting

·        Complete 90% of assigned data tasks on time including but not limited to pulling, analyzing and communicating data.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Planning and Management

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans to be shared with clients as well as other staff members.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.

Data & Analysis

  • Pull reports from a variety of sources including Salesforce, JobsEQ, 123 Formbuilder, etc.
  • Draft summary findings from said reports using both quantitative and qualitative forms of analysis.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead project teams, ensuring all members are clear on their roles and deliverables.
  • Motivate and support team members to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication among team members.
  • Provide timely and accurate project documentation and reports to management and stakeholders, highlighting key metrics, progress, and achievements.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Quality Assurance:
  •  Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Continuously evaluate project management processes and practices, identifying areas of improvement, and implementing enhancements to optimize project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Help determine gaps and opportunities for training of team members across the organization on established tools, processes and standards.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • Five years of proven progressive experience in project management or related fields required.
  • Three years of experience in qualitative data analysis and working with tools like Excel, Tableau, Salesforce, etc.
  • Experience with project management tools like Asana is a plus.
  • PMP or CSM or other relevant project management certification is a plus.

Physical requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to work in an office and remote environment.
  • Ability to travel from and to work and occasionally to regional sites as the organization grows.
  • Ability to interact with others via technology, face-to-face and collectively.
