Manager of Education

The Manager of Education leads the design, management, and delivery of learning experiences that equip nonprofit professionals across all career stages. This role blends curriculum development, program execution, and innovation, with the opportunity to take on strategic responsibilities that build leadership capacity for future director-level growth.
 
Responsibilities
As a key driver of Nonprofit Connect’s member value, the Manager of Education integrates in-person, virtual, and hybrid learning formats to strengthen the sector while supporting sustainable revenue growth. The qualified candidate should be a skilled learning and development professional, adept at balancing strategy and execution.
 
Essential Functions
Curriculum Design & Adult Learning Strategy:

  • Leads the development of learning experiences that address the evolving needs of nonprofit professionals.
  • Apply adult learning principles for both in-person and virtual training environments.
  • Builds curricula that balance instruction, interaction, and real-world application.
  • Aligns programs with emerging sector trends, professional skill development, and organizational objectives.
 
Program Management & Delivery
  • Coordinates and delivers engaging learning experiences that build confidence and capacity in nonprofit professionals.
  • Implements need assessment tools and measures learning outcomes to report on impact and inform future planning.
  • Pilots new initiatives, including regional education programs and the integration of technology such as AI tools.
 
Partnership & Team Collaboration
  • Builds and maintains relationships with subject matter experts, facilitators, and partners to enhance educational offerings.
  • Supervises and mentors interns, volunteers, or staff as assigned, supporting professional development and team success.
  • Collaborates with leadership on annual education planning, providing insights and recommendations.
  
Program Sustainability & Innovation:
  • Supports budgeting and revenue generation for education programs, including exploring sponsorships and fee-for-service opportunities. Includes monitoring department expenses.
  • Continually seeks opportunities to improve and expand program content and delivery methods.
 
Other Responsibilities
  • Provides excellent customer service and maintains positive relationships with members and partners.
  • Participates in organization-wide planning and cross-departmental projects.
  • Assists with general office operations and fulfills other duties as assigned.
 
Education and Experience
  • Preferred 5 years of experience in nonprofit program management, adult education, or professional training.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and delivering hybrid and digital learning programs.
  • Experience with learning technologies and AI tools preferred.
 
Qualifications
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the nonprofit sector.
  • Strong strategic thinking, initiative, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with a friendly, sincere, and helpful problem-solving approach to building relationships with staff and members.
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, and willingness and ability to learn and use new software, including membership databases.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Willingness to work occasional early mornings or evenings as needed.
  • Maintain a personal professional presence, including appropriate business attire.
 
Benefits
The salary for this position ranges from $65,000 to $70,000 and will receive full benefits, including 100% employer-paid health, dental, vision, Simple IRA as well as paid holidays and a generous paid time off policy.
