Reports To: CAFY Board of Directors
Employment Status: Full Time
Salary Range: $50,000-65,000
Organization Overview
The Park Hill Community Alliance for Youth (CAFY) is a long-standing, community-driven organization working to reduce youth substance use, promote mental health, and build resilience among youth in the Park Hill area. Rooted in prevention efforts that began in the Northland in the 1980s, CAFY has served the community since 1995 by bringing together youth, parents, schools, businesses, and community partners to create lasting change. Our work spans multiple cities within the Park Hill School District boundaries and reflects the needs of a large, diverse population.
As a coalition, CAFY values collaboration, evidence-based prevention, and strong community relationships. This is a unique opportunity to serve as CAFY’s sole staff member, working closely with a committed Board and engaged partners to lead meaningful prevention efforts with real local impact. The right candidate will find both autonomy and support, and the chance to shape the current and future prevention efforts in the Park Hill community.
Position Summary
The Park Hill Community Alliance for Youth is working to eliminate substance use, promote mental health and build resilience in area youth. The Board of Directors is seeking a Program Director to lead substance misuse prevention efforts, manage the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) grant, and support the organization’s long-term sustainability through expanded fundraising and partnership development. The position serves as the organization’s sole staff member and works closely with the Board of Directors and Beacon Mental Health staff to implement prevention strategies, manage coalition activities, and contribute to diversified funding efforts beyond the federal grant. The board is looking for a self-starter candidate with a deep passion for coordinating programs, working with a variety of partners, and mobilizing projects that create long-term change in our community. The candidate should be a leader with strong attention to detail, incredible inter-personal skills, and ability to coordinate multiple programs simultaneously to serve as our Program Director. This flexible position with limited evening and weekend hours will serve as the grant administrator, community mobilizer, prevention specialist and development director of Park Hill CAFY.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and administration of the Drug-Free Communities (DFC) Support Program Grant and other grant revenue
- Manage the full grant lifecycle including application, implementation, monitoring, reporting and compliance
- Plan, implement, expand and evaluate school and community-based prevention programs and coalition building activities, strategic planning and coalition events
- Coordinate and conduct monthly or bi-monthly coalition meetings, steering committee meetings and workgroups to carry out the work of the DFC grant and coalition priorities
- Compile data from a wide variety of sources and maintain a mixture of manual and electronic documents and files for the purpose of reporting, tracking and planning coalition progress and DFC grant
- Manage the Coalition’s DFC fiscal resources and accounts payable, in accordance to grant guidelines and the coalition’s budget
- Monitor a wide variety of activities (IE: meeting arrangements, minutes, travel coordination, communication, reminders) for the purpose of achieving organization’s goals, strategies and activities and the priorities of the coalition

Recruit, engage, and retain community stakeholder/sectors

Maintain communication and outreach (website, newsletter, social media) with coalition members, community stakeholders/sectors and public
- Develop & deliver community education, workshops and training
- Collaborate and coordinate Park Hill CAFY efforts with regional prevention programs and strategies
- Identify and pursue funding opportunities, including grants, and partnerships
- Support board-led fundraising efforts, including events, campaigns, and donor outreach
- Assist with donor stewardship, reporting and funder communications
- Support development of partnerships with businesses and community organizations
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Park Hill CAFY Board of Directors
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Travel: Availability to travel to limited local and national training and multi-day events is required. The ability to work a flexible schedule which may include some early morning and/or evening hours and occasional weekends, as needed per projects. Ability to travel to various locations/meetings throughout the Park Hill/Northland area is required multiple times a week. Reliable transportation and insurance is required
Benefits and Details:
Flexibility: This position is salaried but is expected to work an average of 40 hours per week. The position is flexible, meaning outside of meetings/events that are scheduled at times convenient for coalition members/staff.
Home Office: The Program Director has historically worked remotely out of their home. Office space can be secured at a later date if deemed necessary.
