Government Relations Specialist

Your Mission Awaits!
Conduct Research:
Dive headfirst into the latest regulatory trends and issues. Your insights will shape policies that resonate with both our internal team and external stakeholders in the massage therapy field.
Draft Legislative Communications:
Craft compelling correspondence and persuasive testimony for legislators, regulatory agencies, and organizations that champion public protection.
Legislation Tracking:
Stay at the forefront of the latest legislative developments across the U.S. Identify, track, and testify on critical regulations that impact our industry.
Policy Development Coordination:
Collaborate with industry stakeholders to develop and implement best practices addressing state legislative challenges.
Present at Member Meetings:
Represent FSMTB at legislative meetings and public hearings, promoting our programs and highlighting our mission with confidence.
Training and Resource Provision:
Empower our team. Provide valuable training and resources to FSMTB staff and member boards on government relations best practices, enhancing their effectiveness.
Programmatic Support:
Support a range of FSMTB programs, from MBLEx® to CE Registry™ and other programs and services. Your contributions will enhance our initiatives and uplift the entire massage therapy regulatory community.

Education/Experience
Required Education:
A degree in political science, public policy, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Desired Experience:
Experience in the regulatory arena, advocacy, or association management is a definite plus.
Ability to travel (10%).
Proficiency in Microsoft suite and experience with databases.
