Child Welfare Supervisor
Family Preservation Services (FPS) provides intensive in-home services and case management services to families who have one or more children at risk of out-of-home placement or who will be at risk of out-of-home placement at birth.
The FPS Supervisor is responsible for supervising the Case Manager and Family Support Worker dyads. The Supervisor is responsible for case management best practices, in conjunction with the Director and oversees the day-today activities associated with providing case management services. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, directing, and following up on work, including documentation; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving other problems.
Position Overview:
- Accepts and screens referrals and makes case assignments
- Meets DCF timelines to review initial service plans, case plans, court reports, and assures that identified needs in the on-going assessment process are being addressed
- Provides staff with direct supervision and case review to assure the integrity of service delivery and reporting
- Responsible for case management best practices, in conjunction with the management team
- Oversee the day-to-day activities associated with providing case management services
- In partnership with DCF, determines client readiness for transition to case closure or community-based referrals
- Represents DCCCA at local staffing and networking events as requested
- Attends court hearings and client in-home visits as necessary
- Provides 24 hour, 7 days a week support to staff and remains available during crisis situations
- Master's degree in social work or related field is required
- Requires a Master's level license by the BSRB
- Must have two or three years of prior experience in behavioral health or children/family services; personal experience with addictions treatment is preferred
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record
- Must pass pre-employment background checks, fingerprinting and drug screening
