Crisis Response Advocate
Rose Brooks Center, a nonprofit domestic violence agency, seeks a full-time, Crisis Response Advocate to provide survivor-centered, trauma-informed, accessible, and inclusive crisis advocacy to survivors of domestic violence, primarily referred through the Bridge Program and law enforcement. This position is co-located at higher volume hospitals to maintain the support and utilization of the Bridge Program.
Crisis advocacy services include safety planning; assisting survivors with Emergency Ex Parte Orders of Protection and Crime Victims' Compensation applications; connecting survivors to Rose Brooks Center services and community resources; and providing follow-up advocacy. The Crisis Response Advocate also supports the Bridge Program and Lethality Assessment Program (LAP) while collaborating across agency programs, multidisciplinary partners, and external systems to provide coordinated, survivor-centered services that advance the agency's mission and values.
OTHER ASPECTS OF THE POSITION:
- Perform all job responsibilities in accordance with agency policies and procedures while demonstrating proficiency in all RBC competencies and utilizing the principles of trauma-informed care and accessibility. Demonstrates a commitment to the overall mission of Rose Brooks Center.
- Maintain awareness about the risks of secondary trauma and understand one’s own responsibility of self-care.
- Attend scheduled staff, team, and supervision meetings.
- Participate in all required trainings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- One year or more experience working in a residential setting or crisis intervention role, providing inclusive services to a diverse client group including at-risk populations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks while remaining flexible to changing needs.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, database systems, and other software.
- Due to specific hospital requirements, candidate must be able to provide proof of immunizations or be able to obtain blood test to verify immunization; must receive annual flu vaccine.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of liability insurance.
Preferred:
- Related experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
- Experience providing domestic violence advocacy.
- Courses or classwork related to human services, social work, or related field.
- Bilingual Spanish/English
HOURS: Full-time, non-exempt. The regular schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. (midnight) and Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. This position requires work on some holidays, including holidays that may fall on an employee's regularly scheduled day off.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: This full-time, non-exempt position starts at an hourly rate of $20.00 and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
