Family Empowerment Coach

We are proving out a replicable model of grassroots and holistic neighborhood development in east-side Kansas City, to see the communities and the families that we love thrive. We are committed to the “Restoration of the Family Unit” in the communities we serve and fulfill this mission by serving families through our in-home empowerment coaching curriculum and model.
Role
The Family Empowerment Coach provides strength-based coaching and support to families residing in east-side Kansas City. The role involves meeting with families in the home on a weekly basis to walk with them to a place of wholeness, health, and self-sufficiency. The coach will be equipped to facilitate Empire Dreams coaching curriculum, framework and modality with families in east-side Kansas City.
Responsibilities

Build trusting, authentic, and respectful relationships with individuals and families

Provide in-home coaching sessions, resource support and goal planning to stabilize and strengthen families.

Develop and implement family-centered action plans to obtain goals.

Provide guidance on areas of development and growth such as parenting, routines, and conflict management.

Support families in navigating services such as healthcare, housing, education, and employment.

Model and reinforce healthy parenting behaviors and household management.

Consistently catalog, monitor and maintain all family, community and program data and progress on an up-to-date and weekly basis.

Identify and respond to signs of abuse, neglect, or crisis situations in accordance with reporting laws.

Collaborate with case managers, therapists, social workers, and other service providers.

Participate in supervision, staff meetings, and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
-
Extensive experience working with disenfranchised communities and families.
-
Strong communication, problem-solving, and coaching skills.

Understanding of community culture, the impact of trauma and family relationships.

Ability to maintain boundaries and manage emotionally complex situations.
-
Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to communicate with others, manage conflict, and regulate one’s own emotions.

Capacity to work well with teams from a place of humility, honor and respect.

Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to travel for home visits.
-
Must pass background checks and meet safety and confidentiality requirements.

Commitment to the holistic health and well-being of east-side KC.

Hours: Flexible hours 30-40 hours a week. Some weeknights and Saturdays required.
Salary Range: $ 40,000 - $50,000
Location: Eastside Kansas City
Benefits: We are currently unable to provide benefits
