Family Engagement and Support Coordinator

The Family Engagement and Support Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to lead and coordinate family engagement and support during participation at The Mary Shaw Branton Therapeutic Preschool and Outpatient program. This position will work with the Case Manager to complete the intake process by identifying children/family needs, helping families understand program expectations, problem solving through attendance barriers and providing resources to families enrolled in the center-based preschool, and outpatient therapy services. The Family Engagement and Support Coordinator will establish and maintain community partnerships for effective collaboration.  They will also provide support and guidance to families and staff in dealing with family situations as needed. The Family engagement position is a client facing position with little opportunity for routinely working remotely.  Other duties as assigned. 

PHYSICAL/ENVORNMENTAL/OTHER 

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle 
  • Ability to work in a variety of home and community settings including the ability to ascend and descent stairs 
  • Ability to lift at least 30 pounds with weight ranging up to 60 or more pounds based upon children enrolled in services 
  • Ability to work comfortably in a variety of positions including seated on the floor. 

EDUCATION:  Bachelor's Degree in child development, family development, family sciences or related field from an accredited university preferred 

 EXPERIENCE: 

  • Demonstrated ability to consider a variety of abilities and needs when developing solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crucial conversations and to consider alternative perspectives when communicating with parents/caregivers and other stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to professionally and effectively engage with others in challenging status quo. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-cultural interactions with positive outcomes. 
  • Demonstrated Commitment to creating an environment in which all stakeholders experience a sense of belonging. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: 

  • Project management skills 
  • Microsoft Office 365 skills 
  • SOAP notes or similar documenting format
