The Second Chance Services Coordinator is a full-time position starting at $40,000 annually with 70% of health care premiums provided if needed.

Summary/Objective 
The Services Coordinator is an administrative position for the Second Chance Risk Reduction Center (SCP). The Services Coordinator will interact with SCP/KCMCC staff, program participants, volunteers, managers, and correctional personnel to ensure seamless coordination of program services. The Services Coordinator will have significant responsibilities to assisting Second Chance Resource Specialists. It will also involve frequent interaction with people who have a criminal history.

Essential Functions

Administrative Support
  • Manages office communications by answering and directing phone calls, maintaining voicemails, mail correspondence, online inquiries, and general office communications.
  • Organizes and schedules office conference room appointments.
  • Maintains appropriate contact lists.
  • Acts as the initial point of contact for internal and external participants, by managing reception area and providing general support to visitors while maintaining a professional image.
  • Liaises with other KCMCC and community programs to handle queries and requests.
  • Create and maintain database of community supports.
  • Maintains day-to-day office operations such as office equipment operation, office supply stock and ordering for all staff.
  • Update and maintain social media correspondence.
 
Reentry Services
  • Facilitate periodic release readiness/life skills workshops within the correctional system.
  • Facilitate regular job readiness classes & quarterly welcome back sessions
  • Facilitate/Coordinate the SCP/Metropolitan Community Service Program (MCSP) relationship to assist participants who are required to perform community service.
  • Assist as a functional member of the Case Management Team in providing reentry support to SCP participants, as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports, as needed.
  • Track SCP programming activities and outcomes in multiple databases
  • Collaborate with SCP staff to help program participants achieve reentry performance benchmarks
 
Other Duties
  • Reports for work, work assignments, and job-related functions on time and when scheduled.
  • Produce monthly Instilling Change Series
  • Participate in job-related training sessions and seminars.
  • Maintains Pantry ensuring it is well stocked, monitors inventory and conducts shopping.
  • Assist with KCMCC fundraising events, as needed.
  • Decorates the office for seasonal holidays.
  • Models’ high standard of professionalism to co-workers, program participants, and partners.
  • Remains in compliance with Employee Confidentiality agreement as a trusted member of the KCMCC team.
  • Follow guidelines established and set forth in KCMCC Employee Handbook.
  • Perform other duties, as required.

Supervisory Responsibility
The Services Coordinator position has no supervisory responsibilities.
 
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
 
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Although this is largely a sedentary role; however, some physical ability is required. This would require the ability to lift, open cabinets and bend or stand, as necessary. The employee must occasionally lift office products, supplies and pantry stock weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Travel
The position may require travel to and from correctional facilities, probation & parole offices, other service providers and training sites. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience
       1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred
       2. Relevant experience working with pre- and post-release offender population
       3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
       4. Proficient in the use of computers and general programming such as Microsoft Word, Outlook,
            Excel, PowerPoint, Google Doc, Social Media platforms
       5. Public speaking experience and skills
       6. Excellent organization skills
       7. Excellent interpersonal skills, including an ability to get along with people of diverse backgrounds
       8.
Experience working with offender population
       9. Experience in administrative setting

     10. Trauma Informed Care certification


Additional Eligibility Qualifications
Individual must follow all grant requirements and KCMCC employment guidelines.


Work Authorization/Security Clearance 
Individual must be able to pass correctional facility screenings and/or fingerprint clearance.
