Classification: Exempt (no overtime)
Hours: M-F, 40 hours/week, occasional evenings and weekends
Location: Multiple locations
Salary Range: $60,000-$70,000 annually

Position Summary: The Warehouse Coordinator manages warehouse operations that support JFS pantries and community partners by ensuring a safe, organized, and well-stocked food supply. This role is responsible for food sourcing, inventory management, receiving and distribution, equipment and vehicle operation, and volunteer coordination, while maintaining compliance with food safety and workplace standards. Working closely with the Director of Pantry Operations, the Warehouse Coordinator helps develop a growing warehouse pilot program and represents the agency professionally with donors, vendors, and community partners.
Essential Duties:

Source food and essential products through wholesalers, food banks, donors, and partners to support pantries and community agencies

Manage all warehouse inventory, including receiving, weighing, sorting, storage, rotation, tracking, reporting, and distribution; discard items not fit for distribution

Ensure inventory data is accurate and accessible; conduct monthly spot checks and alert for potential shortages or supply risks

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse, equipment, and vehicles in compliance with health codes and workplace safety standards; support excellent health inspection outcomes

Operate warehouse equipment and delivery vehicles (e.g., pallet jacks, lifts, rolling racks, box truck) safely; identify and report unsafe conditions or practices

Maintain and stay current on all required professional certifications and safety licenses, ensuring full compliance with industry standards and facility regulations

Load, unload, and deliver food and equipment to pantries and community partners; coordinate logistics including food drive pickups and equipment drop-offs

Train, supervise, and support volunteers assisting with packing, sorting, moving food, and other warehouse projects

Collaborate closely with pantry management and operational teams to anticipate needs, align distribution plans, and ensure consistent inventory availability

Maintain positive, professional relationships with partner agencies, staff, donors, and volunteers; provide excellent customer service to agency clients

Help develop, improve, and adapt systems and processes for a growing warehouse pilot program; proactively problem-solve operational challenges

Communicate trends, concerns, successes, and operational issues to the Director of Pantry Operations

Serve as a hands-on, flexible member of a small pantry and food distribution team; participate in training and provide backup and/or perform other duties as assigned

Essential Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

Bilingual preferred.

Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B preferred.

High school diploma/GED; Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.

Two years’ related work experience in a similar position (preferred). A combination of education and related work experience that totals a minimum of four years (combined) may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.

Able to successfully work with staff, volunteers, clients, and donors at all levels.

Familiarity with a non-profit environment (preferred).
-
Experience with and working knowledge of food safety best practices.

Strong office technology experience, and enjoys using and learning technology tools and programs: Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, mobile devices and apps

Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds consistently, up to 200 pounds occasionally with assistance, and to push items that may weigh up to 1,800 pounds.

Frequent lifting and bending; full range of motion in lower and upper extremities and use of back; long periods of standing or sitting.
