Position Description:

The NorthCare Hospice House & Events Volunteer Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Volunteer Services, and receives administrative oversight from the Director of Inpatient Services and/or the NorthCare Inpatient Manager. This position is responsible for managing the daily operations of the NorthCare Hospice House volunteer program while also overseeing volunteer coordination for community events, special programs, and fundraising initiatives.              

 

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess the Following Requirements:

Required: High School diploma or equivalent.  Minimum one (1) year professional experience in administrative support or related area. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. 

 

Preferred:  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business, or related field.  Prior work or volunteer experience in the non-profit field.  Knowledge of volunteer coordination, programming, and/or volunteer recruitment preferred. Working knowledge of Google Suite and database management experience preferred.

·         Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills required, with the ability to work effectively with staff, volunteers, and other external stakeholders.

·         Strong organizational skills, flexibility, efficiency, and ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Ability to safely perform job duties.

·         Ability to meet attendance, overtime, on call, and other reliability requirements of the job.

·         Ability to meet job requirements such as job rotation/cross training.

·         Ability to interact appropriately with others and appropriately handle supervisory and others’ instructions and feedback.

·         Ability to meet work on-site.

·         Ability to travel to other agency offices and throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area may be required; must have access to reliable transportation.
