News Release: 11/27/2024

Pinnacle Winds, Kansas City’s professional concert band, announces the sixth concert of its fourth season to occur on Sunday, December 15, 2024, beginning at 2:00 pm in the beautiful sanctuary of the Kansas City First Church of the Nazarene at 11811 State Line Road in Kansas City, Missouri.

The concert is entitled “The Love of Giving,” and will feature a seasonal music program that will be entertaining and uplifting. Pinnacle Winds conductor Dr. John C. Carmichael will share the podium with conductors David Vance and Alex Caselman, both band members.

Compositions to be presented include Alfred Reed’s Russian Christmas Music, Selections from the Nutcracker, Stille Nacht, O Magnum Mysterium, A Fireside Christmas, Fanfare and Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Carol of the Bells, and a special area premiere of Winterscape, an original composition by local composer and band member Gavin Lendt. This will be an exciting, moving, and enjoyable concert performed by some of the most accomplished instrumentalists in the Kansas City area.

The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be gladly received at the door.
