Additionally, congratulations to Carolyn Lucas for receiving the 2024 Black Achiever of the Year Award and Bob Kendrick for receiving the 2024 Lifetime Achiever Award.

Tonight, the Black Achievers Society, along with Honeywell, awarded over $50,000 in scholarships to ten high school graduates who will be attending various colleges and universities.

The Black Achievers Society of Greater Kansas City was founded in 1974 by former Kansas City Mayor, and now United States Congressman Emanuel Cleaver. Initially, the organization aimed to recognize companies in Business and Industry for their leadership in diversity and inclusion. Today, the Society is active in the community, providing annual scholarships, fostering collaboration among high-achieving African American professionals, and offering leadership development and scholarship opportunities to area youth.

Here's to 50 years of excellence and community impact!
