AANHPI Nonprofit Roundtable | November 2024
Attention AANHPI-identifying nonprofit professionals AND allies!
Whether you are a first-generation, 1.5-generation, second-generation, third-generation AANHPI immigrant/refugee or if your family has been living in America for decades, as an AANHPI-identifying individual, you likely have much experience navigating the beautiful differences and complexities of American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander and Asian cultures.
We warmly invite AANHPI identifying nonprofit professionals and allies to our November Roundtable Potluck. Cuisine is such a central part of AANHPI culture, so bring a cultural dish to share during this Thanksgiving season! We will network over delicious food and conversation!
Session Outcomes: During the Thanksgiving season, AANHPI-identifying individuals and allies will build bonds with other peers over cuisine, which is an incredibly important part of AANHPI culture. Thanksgiving is uniquely an American holiday that is typically not celebrated in some of the cultures of many AANHPI-identifying individuals’ families of origin. Many AANHPI-identifying individuals living in America have had to uniquely bridge the celebrations of American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander and Asian holidays. Every day, AANHPI-identifying individuals are challenged to embrace the unique norms, traditions, paradigms and perspectives of the often vastly differing cultures.
