Meet the presenter:
Cynthia Newsome is an award-winning journalist. She has been at KSHB 41 for 27 years. Many of you know her from the 25 years she was anchoring and reporting at 41. She was promoted 2 years ago to the management team and is now, Community Relationships Director for KSHB 41 and KCMI, 38 The Spot. When Cynthia came to Kansas City, she knew she wanted to get involved in helping the community. She didn’t waste any time. In 1997, her first year in town. Cynthia founded, Awesome Ambitions. It’s a college and career readiness program for 8th through 12th grade girls in the Kansas City metro. That program is now in its 28th year and more than 3,000 girls have participated in Awesome Ambitions.
