Nonprofit Board Members Needed- All Ages
We focus on the root principles of inclusivity, respect, and innovation to empower leaders and teams of all ages in their next round of difference-making.
MISSION
Bridging the wisdom and energy of all ages in communities and workplaces through improved intergenerational communications and leadership.
VISION
Thriving communities led by adults and youth who value each other.
Age is the one diversity characteristic that all people share. While ageism is a complex situation, with seven generations alive, six volunteering in communities, and five earning a paycheck for the first time in history, most group conflict stems from a lack of self awareness and behaviors reflecting incorrect assumptions and snap judgments by people of all generations. Because humans share more characteristics than we don’t, Roots and Rounds works to generate a greater level of respect among multi-age groups that work together in our workspaces and our communities. Intergenerational communication and leadership is more important now than ever!
We have done the research to ensure all our programming is evidence-based. A Deloitte 2020 Human Capital survey found that 70% of respondents said leadership skills for multigenerational workforce are critical to their success. Yet only 6% strongly agree that their leaders are equipped to lead a multigenerational workforce effectively. That is a significant gap! Our programming is designed to bring people together in a safe environment, to help open lines of communication and trust that will lead to greater outcomes for individuals, and in workspaces and communities.
Our organization is a young 501(c)3 non-profit social enterprise organization located in Clinton County, Missouri and founded in 2019. Our primary services for in-person training have been conducted in Kansas City and counties in northwest Missouri, while our online programming has touched participants from coast to coast.
At this time, we currently operate as a sole volunteer organization, utilizing the talents, skills and abilities of our board members. We are seeking board members who are passionate about the root principles of inclusivity, respect and innovation to empower leaders and teams of all ages in their next round of difference making.
