Events Intern (Part-Time)
 
HOURLY WAGE: $15.00
 
JOB SUMMARY: As an Events Intern at Kansas City PBS, you will play a vital role in executing successful events to engage with our audience across our three brands (Kansas City PBS, 90.9 The Bridge and Flatland). You will work closely with our marketing team and cross-departmentally to ensure seamless execution of various events.
 
JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide support for event setup and cleanup.
  • Assist with event tabling and distributing marketing materials.
  • Assist the Event Planner with phone calls and other outreach related to event logistics.
  • Conduct outreach to venues and vendors for availability and pricing.
  • Organize and label event supplies.
  • Research and communicate ideas for event engagement activities.
  • Participate in event walkthroughs and supply runs alongside the Event Planner.
  • Assist with pre-event slideshows and music playlists.
  • Help the Event Planner with various activities during an event, such as greeting guests, line management and engagement activities.
  • Serve as a “runner” during events for any last-minute needs.
  • Assist with swag organization and set up at events.
  • Work with Event Planner to identify any event supply needs.
  • Assist Event Planner with email tasks related to event follow-up correspondence.
 REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Reliable self-starter who is eager to learn.
  • Interest in event planning, marketing, media or related field.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED (an equivalent amount of training, education and experience

will be considered):
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • Must be interested in events, marketing and/or currently pursuing or just completed an undergraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
