Assistant - Buildings & Grounds Services
Position: Maintenance and Custodial Services Assistant
Department: Facilities
Reports to: Buildings, Grounds, and Fleet Operations Coordinator
Location: St. Joseph, Missouri
Status: Part-Time
Hours per Week: 25 -29
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance and Custodial Services Assistant to join our team. This role involves performing maintenance tasks, custodial duties, and car maintenance to ensure our facilities and vehicles are well-maintained and operational.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repair tasks for buildings and grounds.
- Carry out custodial duties, including cleaning and sanitizing facilities.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the buildings and grounds.
- Manage and perform maintenance tasks on fleet vehicles, including scheduling repairs and routine checks.
- Support the coordination of preventive maintenance for building systems and vehicles.
- Maintain inventory of supplies and equipment needed for maintenance and custodial tasks.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Buildings, Grounds, and Fleet Operations Coordinator.
- Assist with other duties as assigned to support the facilities team.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building maintenance and custodial services.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance is a plus.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance and custodial tasks.
