Database Developer

The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation is seeking a local Kansas City Database Developer to support the integrity, usability, and effectiveness of our data systems. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate information flows across the organization - powering informed decisions that support our mission and the generosity of our community.
What You’ll Do

Design, build, and maintain data solutions that support reporting, analysis, and operational needs across the organization.

Develop and manage ETL & ELT processes to ensure data is accurate, consistent, and available for internal stakeholders.

Develop integrations using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Fabric Data Factory, SSIS, or equivalent technologies.

Maintain and optimize databases, data models, and documentation to support long-term data reliability.

Collaborate across teams to understand data needs and translate them into effective technical solutions.

Monitor data quality, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
What You’ll Bring

At least 3-6 years of related experience with a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong SQL skills with the ability to troubleshoot data quality, transformation, and performance issues.

Experience managing job orchestration, scheduling, retries, and failure recovery for data workflows.

Experience integrating data from APIs, SaaS platforms, files, and relational databases (including JSON and XML payloads).

Ability to monitor pipeline execution and proactively identify and remediate reliability issues.
