Staff Attorney
LEGAL AID OF WESTERN MISSOURI
Kansas City, Missouri School-based attorney
Legal Aid seeks a full-time staff attorney for its Justice in the Schools project. This project is funded by the Local Investment Commission (LINC) and this person will be primarily based out of the LINC offices.
The attorney will be providing free civil legal services for qualifying clients in a variety of legal areas including eviction defense and family law. The ideal individual will be comfortable interacting with school district families and staff members.
This position will require occasional outreach and the facilitation of legal presentations.
The qualified candidate must have the following:
- Missouri Bar License
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexibility
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Desire and commitment to assist in the delivery of high-quality legal assistance to low-income people
- Experience in housing and family law is a plus.
