Coordinator, Social Media

Location: Kansas City, MO, 64111
The Social Media Coordinator is responsible for ensuring our social media strategy and execution aligns with larger marketing objectives and brand standards. They will collaborate with an internal team of copywriters, photographers, and designers on content creation and will be responsible for trend research, creative ideation, content scheduling, and community management. This position will lead internal and external initiatives for social media collaborations with partners, organizations, and key influencers.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Social Media Strategy: Collaborate with the Director of Marketing to develop strategic plans for each channel, audience, and content theme. Use analytics to adjust strategies and meet social media goals for both organic and paid efforts.

Trend and Industry Research: Produce regular trend reports and recommendations on trends that align with the museum’s brand. Research emerging platforms and features, providing recommendations as needed.

Community and Brand Management: Engage with followers through comments, direct messages, and tags. Monitor brand sentiment and alert the team to any issues, especially negative trends.

Influencer Outreach: Identify and engage with relevant social media influencers. Pitch museum events and programs for feature on their accounts.

Partner Coordination: Work with other brands and organizations on joint social media initiatives to enhance reach.

Content Coordination: Develop a content calendar aligned with strategic goals. Collaborate with internal teams to create content for key platforms and maintain regular communication with colleagues.

Content Scheduling: Use Sprout Social and platform tools to schedule weekly content.

Data Analysis: Create reports, analyze social media data, and recommend adjustments to better reach target audiences.

Other: Complete all other duties as assigned or requested for the general support of the division and organization.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements |
Working conditions are typically those of an office environment. Work primarily at a desk, use a PC/ Perform with frequent interruptions and/or distractions. The ability to attend on-site meetings/events within the museum and museum properties. Perform effectively under conditions of fluctuating workload. |
Hours/Travel Expectations |
Monday to Friday workweek. Work hours are generally 9 AM to 5 PM (35 hour work week) Will occasionally work after hours when engaging with social media followers and influencers. 0-5% of Travel Required |
