Director of Marketing & Events
Are you a creative, results-driven professional who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment? The Shawnee Chamber of Commerce is seeking a Director of Marketing & Events to lead our marketing efforts and execute our marquee events.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats — from crafting compelling marketing campaigns to managing large-scale events on-site — all while building strong relationships with members, stakeholders, and the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead marketing and communications for the Shawnee Chamber, Visit Shawnee, and Shawnee Economic Development Council.
- Plan and execute major events, including the Annual Dinner, Golf Tournament, and Trivia Night, ensuring an exceptional member experience.
- Develop creative, results-oriented marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social channels.
- Monitor adherence to marketing and brand standards across all platforms and materials.
- Manage content for Chamber websites and social media accounts.
- Build relationships with members, media, and community partners to increase engagement and visibility.
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of professional experience in marketing, communications, and/or event coordination (nonprofit or association experience preferred).
- Proven track record of managing large-scale events and on-site logistics.
- Skilled at creating impactful marketing campaigns and materials.
- Graphic design skills a plus (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar tools).
- Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, marketing, or related field.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with digital platforms; WordPress experience preferred.
